Über AHA

johnsen The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) is the world union of over 100 Humanist, rationalist, secular, ethical culture, atheist and freethought organizations in more than 40 countries. Our mission is to represent and support the global Humanist movement. Having had no recent contacts with any Luxembourg organisation, I certainly welcome the creation of a new association, the Allianz vun Humanisten, Atheisten an Agnostiker Lëtzebuerg, and hope that it will apply for membership of IHEU in the near future. To have such organisations is especially important in countries with a high influence of religion on politics and public life in general. I sincerely hope that A.H.A. Lëtzebuerg can become a major force to counteract this clerical influence, and provide a community for the non-religious people of Luxembourg. All the best!

morelli Dans le domaine de la diffusion de la laïcité et de l’humanisme laïque, comme le dirait la Bible (!) la moisson est abondante mais les moissonneurs toujours trop peu nombreux !! Il faut informer les gens au sujet des nombreux problèmes associés aux sectes et aux religions, entre lesquelles d'ailleurs la seule différence pour moi est que les sectes n'ont pas l'aval politique. Je félicite vivement la nouvelle Allianz vun Humanisten, Atheisten an Agnostiker Lëtzebuerg pour leur initiative, et je leur souhaite un très bon travail!

The humanist view of life is progressive and positive and associations that support and promote this view are vital all over the world. They don't just give non-religious people the chance to feel supported, and to realise that their own worldview is coherent, credible, fulfilling and ethical, they also make an enormous contribution to wider society. I wish the Allianz vun Humanisten, Atheisten an Agnostiker Lëtzebuerg many years of success and look forward to working with them in our common cause across Europe and the world.

pollock I warmly welcome the formation of a Humanist association in Luxembourg. As people’s doubts about religion multiply, we need to show there is a rewarding alternative life stance whose morality does not rest on shaky transcendental foundations. Nowadays, levels of belief and of church membership are collapsing, leading aggressive Christians to claim loudly that laws based on human rights that bar them from their traditional discrimination against women, gays, other- and non-believers amount a new persecution comparable to anti-Semitism. Moreover, churches cling to their outdated financial and other privileges, and busily exploit their access under the Lisbon Treaty to the highest levels in the European Union. For these reasons, it is vital that humanists and secularists come together to defend secularism and the rights of the non-religious. I look forward to the Allianz vun Humanisten, Atheisten an Agnostiker Lëtzebuerg joining the European Humanist Federation and helping us in our work! Greetings and best wishes!

Je consacre depuis plus de vingt ans une part importante de mes recherches à l’étude de la politique internationale du Vatican. Cette institution, les archives originales le démontrent, est liée, à l'époque contemporaine comme à l’ère de l’Inquisition, aux forces les plus réactionnaires stricto sensu, c'est à dire les plus opposées au progrès social, économique et culturel. Un certain nombre de chercheurs l’ont démontré, sur des bases scientifiques plus solides que jamais dans la période récente. Ils sont largement privés d’accès au public, à l’inverse de la propagande quotidienne qui vise à convaincre les populations que le Vatican compte parmi les champions de la liberté et de la rigueur morale et a vocation à guider leurs choix, politiques et autres. Cette propagande est particulièrement obsédante dans l’Union européenne, qui a été portée sur les fonts baptismaux après 1945, par des forces politiques organiquement liées au fascisme entre les années 1920 et la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, au point qu’on a légitimement parlé d’« Europe vaticane ».

Toute association qui concourt à faire connaître les réalités, politiques et financières, de l’Église romaine et qui combat la prétention des religions à sortir du bâtiment du culte et à empiéter sur la sphère publique, ne peut qu’être encouragée par ceux qui recherchent la vérité scientifique, combattent en faveur de l’indépendance d’esprit et de la liberté de pensée, et préfèrent la laïcité à la tutelle cléricale.

C’est à ce titre que, athée et libre-penseuse, j’apporte mon plus vif soutien à la jeune Allianz vun Humanisten, Atheisten an Agnostiker Lëtzebuerg a.s.b.l. (AHA Lëtzebuerg).
